FAQ’s

Q: Can wine be returned or exchanged?

A: For any unopened wines, with a receipt and within in a month of purchase – that is no problem. However, in most cases – once a bottle is opened, we cannot exchange or refund them.

Although rare, the odd faulty bottle will occasionally rear its ugly head. If you suspect that your bottle is out of condition, please let us know within 24 hours of opening the wine and email us at bakeshop@grainculture.co.uk. Please retain the bottle, its full contents and it’s original stopper so we can arrange for it to be collected and returned to us for examination/bring it in to us and we will assess.

If the unlikely case the wine is deemed faulty, we will happily offer you a like for like replacement (if stock allows) or a credit note. Please note that we are only able to offer a replacement or credit note up to six months from the original purchase date, providing the bottle has been properly stored.

Whilst we’re here, here is some further information about our wine selection!

Provenance of our wines

We make every effort to verify the provenance of our wines, particularly our vintage wines. We purchase only from highly specialist merchants and importers, who are respected in their field. We trust them to purchase and supply us with the very best vintages and from these lists, we hand pick wines that make it onto the Bake Shop Shelves.

Natural Wines

The majority of the wine we offer is low intervention, natural wine. This means that they are made the traditional way with little to no suphites/no nasties added. For this reason, some of the wines may taste very different to mass-produced supermarket wine, even if it is from the same area or made using the same grape. If you are new to the joy of natural wines our staff are happy to guide you! Feel free to e-mail us with

Vintage wine (older than 10 years of age)

Older wines will age and mature in different ways, which may or may not be to all tastes and some may in fact, deteriorate in quality. For this reason, we are unable to replace or credit mature wine over 10 years of age - so these wines are ‘Sold as seen’
